Four black and white photographs of unidentified groups of people that were included in an envelope with the Petertyl Album, 1905-1910. (A) and (B) show a group of women and children posed outside in the summer. Many of the same people are in both pictures. (c) shows a group of seven women posed outside in the winter. (D) shows a group of eight children posed outside in the winter in the same location as (C).

Abstract: The Petertyl Family featured in this collection lived in the Traverse City,
Michigan area. This collection contains materials representing aspects of their daily
lives, mostly in the Traverse City and Leelanau counties of Michigan. Materials in this
collection consist of albums of black and white photographic images, personal letters
from Louis Petertyl during his time as a sergeant in WWI, Masonic Temple menu
booklets, a local Newspaper page, and an ephemera piece.
History: The Petertyl Family of this collection lived in the Traverse City, MI area. Victor
Petertyl worked at Traverse City Wagon Works along with his cousin A.J. Petertyl, who
was the owner of the company. In 1899, Victor bought out A.J. Petertyl, and continued
Traverse City Wagon Works without his cousin and the company became Victor Petertyl
Wagon Works.
(Note: information on Victor Petertyl came from the Clarke Historical Library of Central
Michigan University finding aid for the “Traverse City Wagon Works Business records.”)
Scope and Content Note: Consists of albums of photographic images, ephemera,
personal letters, a newspaper page, Masonic Temple menu booklets.
