Abstract: The Petertyl Family featured in this collection lived in the Traverse City,&#13;
Michigan area. This collection contains materials representing aspects of their daily&#13;
lives, mostly in the Traverse City and Leelanau counties of Michigan. Materials in this&#13;
collection consist of albums of black and white photographic images, personal letters&#13;
from Louis Petertyl during his time as a sergeant in WWI, Masonic Temple menu&#13;
booklets, a local Newspaper page, and an ephemera piece.&#13;
History: The Petertyl Family of this collection lived in the Traverse City, MI area. Victor&#13;
Petertyl worked at Traverse City Wagon Works along with his cousin A.J. Petertyl, who&#13;
was the owner of the company. In 1899, Victor bought out A.J. Petertyl, and continued&#13;
Traverse City Wagon Works without his cousin and the company became Victor Petertyl&#13;
Wagon Works.&#13;

Michigan University finding aid for the “Traverse City Wagon Works Business records.”)&#13;
