Description
Sue Kurta took ownership of the Ramey Centennial Farm at Bowerman Road in Kingsley. The land was first homesteaded by Frank Dean in 1867. The current house that stand today was built in 1892; the last family residents were Earl and Wanda (Dean) Ramey. When Ms. Kurta took ownership of the property, she wanted to maintain the heritage of the farm. In response to her passion for the farm's history, Sandy, the daughter of Earl and Wanda (Dean) Ramey, gave this family album to Ms. Kurta to be kept at the farm. Ms. Kurta graciously donated the album for a short time to be included in this digital repository of Kingsley history. The family album mostly concerns the Dean family, although other prominent families, such as the Hoyt family, are included. For more information about the farm, please refer to the May 1996 edition of "The Village Good News", in the "Village Good News" collection at the Kingsley Branch Library.
