Dublin Core

Description

Aerial view of US 31 South, about 1946, when the highway opened. In the foreground is Kids Creek (once known as Asylum Creek). Just beyond the creek on the far right is the farm once used by Maxbauer's Meat Market for butchering their stock. Beyond that is Franke Road, and you can see the Oleson Family farm buildings sitting almost at the intersection of Franke and US 31 South. Across the street (on the left-hand side of the photograph) is the Lewis Zimmerman Farm. (This photograph was incorrectly identified as being an aerial view of Beitner Road (crossing the Boardman River) and River Road looking north, for many years. A member of the Franke Family correctly identified the photograph in 2017.)
