A postcard of the village looking East.. The school, center, still exists as a home, the house on the right and the store to the left of the school both survive.
Monroe Center was one of the first official settlement in what is now Green Lake Township. At the time it was part of Blair Township but in 1883 Green Lake became a separate township. It was a farming community south of Grawn on Co. 633 and a few buildings still remain.
