The beach on Green Lake at the camp. The National High School Orchestra Camp, National Music Camp, Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Center for the Arts are all names used by an organization that started as a summer camp and has grown into a year around center for all the arts. It began as in 1927 in the Hotel Pennington on Green Lake near Interlochen.
