Description
Image of the interior of the carpenter shop at Traverse City State Hospital. Pictured are 13 men in work gear, including bib overalls and knee-high boots. In the foreground are a wooden rocking chair and two saw horses. To the left is an archway in the brick work, a common architectural feature in the lower levels of Building 50. Behind the men, machinery can be seen, as well as a large belt that appears to extend from floor to ceiling, that powers some unknown equipment. Image is made from the original glass plate negative, 2016.14.184, which is housed in the Glass Plate Negative Collection.
