Title

Women's Cottage, Traverse City State Hospital, ca. 1900

Description

Cottage at Traverse City State Hospital, probably a woman's cottage. Cottage is a large, two-story structure, with a spire on top in the far right of the image. Cottage appears to be made from Markham Brick. A number of women, many with white aprons on, are sitting on the porch, either in chairs or on the steps. A wooden sidewalk leads to the main entrance. One man is also pictured near the entrance, presumably a staff person. Image is made from the original glass plate negative, 2016.14.180, which is housed in the Glass Plate Negative Collection.
