Description

4 Pictures of the steam powered propeller "Missouri". She carried passengers, freight and the mail.
The second picture shows it coming out of the harbor in Manistee, the 3rd in Grand Traverse Bay and the last with it supposedly stuck in ice. This last one was the work of photographer and postcard seller Orson Peck who liked to compose pictures that were not accurate but sold cards. The Missouri was never stuck in ice like this according to donor Steve Kelsch.
