Description

Image of seven Traverse City Firemen in dress uniform, January 1910. Uniforms consist of dark colored coats, hats, and trousers, and on front of coat are a double row of brass buttons, five on each side. Two are seated in the front row, and five stand in the back. All of the standing men have the same symbol or badge, in the shape of the Maltese Cross, affixed to their hats. The seated man on the left has a plain hat without badge, and the man on the right has a what looks like three crossed bugles for his fireman's badge. Calendar behind firemen shows the month and year of the image as January 1910, and was produced by the Eureka Fire Hose Manufacturing Co.
