Kingsley bicentennial events begin today
KINGSLEY- July 15-18 are the dates scheduled for the Kingsley Area Bicentennial celebrations.
Sehl’s Northern Shows, Inc., will be in the village during the celebrations. Other scheduled events are:
July 15
8:00 p.m.- Street Dance at the Bank Parking Lot: Live Music.
July 16
7:00 p.m.- Past Presidents of Kingsley will be introduced.
Guest speaker: Senator Toepp.
This will be followed by entertainment with the Manton Kitchen Band. Friday night’s program will be concluded with a 50-50 drawing by the Kingsley Fire Department.
July 17
10:00 a.m.- Parade- starts at H&M Groceries and proceeds to and down Brownson then to Fenton.
Included in the parade will be a section for pets and another for bikes. Anyone interested in having their pets or riding their bike in the parade should meet at H&M by 9:30 a.m.
After the Parade- Chicken Bar-B-Que
Sponsored by the Kingsley United Methodist Church.
Location: Kingsley United Methodist Church, corner of Spring and Blair Streets.
11:00 a.m. to Dusk- Horseshoes behind the Kingsley Area School.
11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. -Kingsley Fire Dept. Open House at the fire station, coffee, donuts, activities for the kids.
1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.- Kids Games and Contests- Behind the Kingsley Area School- for ages 6-12.
5:00-6:00 p.m.- Free Throw Contest
Junior Division 12-14
Senior Division 15-200
7:00 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m.- Penny DeHaven and the Grand Ole Opera Show in the Kingsley High School Gym.
Between shoes (sic)- Kingsley Fire Department will have a 50-50 drawing.
July 18
Morning- Attend the church of your choice.
1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.- Pass, Punt and Kick Contest-behind the Kingsley Area School- Ages 9 through 13.
2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.- Pee Wee Baseball Game- at the Kingsley Ball Diamond.
3:00 p.m.- Fire Dept. Raffle- Rubber raft, large pizza, oil, lube and filter.
4:00-5:00 p.m. Llong (sic) Ball Hit contest- All ages at the Kingsley Ball Diamond.
5:00-7:00 p.m.- Kingsley Fire Dept. Ball Game.
