In photograph, a boxcar is marked “Great Northern”, a railway that ran from St. Paul, Minnesota to Seattle, Washington. This image does not appear to be of the Grand Traverse Region, however, this scene depicting the packing of fruit boxes continues to be a common sight as agriculture remains a large part of the identity of the region.
