Products produced by the OWD (Oval Wood Dish) company after the moved from Traverse City to Tupper Lake N.Y. The OWD was a major employer in Traverse City until the hard woods ran out and they moved. The thin wooden dishes were used for holding meat and other foods in grocery stores until paper and later plastic trays replaced them. The company in N.Y. was making the picnic items shown here.
