Black and white photograph of Front Street in Traverse City, looking east from the 200 Block, ca. 1880. On the right is the J. Yenish Saloon. Front street is unpaved, but the sidewalks are elevated. A number of people are walking along the sidewalk, both men and women. A number of horse-drawn buggies are hitched up on hitching posts that line the street. In the immediate foreground, in front of an unknown hardware store (possibly Kyselka's), a fire hydrant sits, close to the curb of the sidewalk.
