Description
Black and white photograph taken from the southeast side of the Boardman River ( the photographer' is standing with his/her back towards Front Street, about where J & S Hamburger is in 2014). This photograph was taken in 1940-1950.
From the bottom left corner you see the Boardman River and then an old railroad grade; right in the middle of the photo is the Farmers' Co-operative Ass'n complex; to the reft is Red Mill Lumber (where in 2014 are located Northern Lakes Community Mental Health and the BATA transfer station); to the right is one of two gas tanks that originally belonged to the Traverse City Gas Works. Hall Street runs in front of the Red Mill building.
