Description

Black and white postcard of Front Street, Traverse City, captured from a point just west of the intersection of Front and Union Streets. To the left is the State Bank building, then Union Street, then the Hannah and Lay Store building. To the right is the Wilhelm Building, then Union Street, then the Masonic Building and the City Opera House. A number of people are walking along the sidewalk, and a couple of horse-drawn buggies appear on both sides of the street. Hitching posts along the sidewalk can be seen at regular intervals. Although the sidewalks are elevated, Front Street remains unpaved. Ca. 1905
