Black and white photograph of an Elmer car, built by Elmer F. Johnson in Kalkaska, Michigan. Elmer and his wife, Kate, moved from Detroit, Michigan, to Kalkaska, Michigan in the late 1890s. Elmer built bicycles for the Montgomery Ward Company and also built four cars in his machine shop on S. Cedar Street in Kalkaska. One car, known as the "Elmer", was built for Henry Stover, a druggist in Kalkaska. The car is on display at the Kalkaska Museum
