Description
Black and white photographic postcard of Fife Lake, Michigan. Image is taken from a sandy dune above the lake shore. In the immediate foreground is a sandy area studded with beach grass, and a number of posts in the ground leading down to the lake that appear to have been placed intentionally. Close to the shore is a small boat craft with one mast. No sail is present, perhaps indicating that the boat is anchored in the shallows. In the background, across the lake expanse, all that can be seen are trees. On back of postcard, the postal stamp indicates it was mailed from the Fife Lake post office on July 29, 1927. The postcard manufacturer is not identified. The sender, "Earl," wrote to "Mr. Harry Lightfoot, West Richfield, Ohio." In the note, Earl indicates that he is writing to his cousin. Earl reveals that he has caught a number of fish, and thus far, has the largest caught on the trip, "a pike a little over two feet." Likely a Northern Pike.
