Mr Steinberg.
Dear Sir.
Although I am not personally
acquainted with you. I take the
liberty of informing you that I
employed a clerk, Ike Newmark
by name, the 6th of aug. “ And he
remained until the 23rd when
I discharged him for being
dishonest. I had a warrant already made out for his arrest.
But he being of the same de-
nomination as myself, I gave
him his choice to leave here at
once, or be arrested. He left here
this morning for Traverse City.
So, I though it my duty to let
you know. As he is in search
of employment. The charges
against him were numerous
and the penalty would have
been from three to five years
imprisonment. Trusting this reaches you in time.
I remain.
Yours truly,
D. Rosenthal.
P.S. please inform the other
merchants.
