For 5 cents you get almost as
much "Battle Ax” as you do of
other high grade goods for 10 cents.
Before the days of “Battfe Ax”
consumers paid 10 cents for same
quality. Now, “Battle Ax"—
Highest Grade, 5 cents. That’s
troe economy.

The recent failure of the well-known clothing man
ufacturers, Rothschild, Baum& Stein, of Rochester,
r^lN. Y., forced me to place mortgagee on m^ entire
stock to protect my creditors and to pre'^ent iny
stock from being sold under the hammer. Prefering
to give the people of Traverse City and vicinity an
opportunity to buy new, seasonable goods at their
own prices, over $6,p00 worth of new goods had
already been shipped in goods ih every department
—clothing, hats and furnishing goods. This is not a
sale to unload old “chestnuts” but i^ew goods just
from the market. Everything must go regardless pf
cost to raise the necessary cash to satisfy the mort
gagees. ’ You cannot afford to miss this opportunity
of getting new, seasonable goods at your own price.
We are, making a special effort to dispose of our
overcoat stock—offer us within 26 per pent of cost
and you can have them. You cannot aflbrd to miss
this sale. First come, first served. Early buyers
get the best bargains.

PLANO MANUFACTCBINO CO..
''rw
West Pullman, Chicago. UL
I Have bought one of your Binders, the Plano Steel Bind* ~
er, at last Have tried all others first before I honght, Hone *E
of the others satisfied me. I have waited till the last day. My grain was ripe. So your agent, Mr. duincy A. Thacker, of ^
Traverse Ci^, came just in time, and I purchased the Plano,
Mr. Thacker set up the binder and we tried it in. heavy, long
rye. But I must say, I have been forming for the last 80 yrk
and seen a good many binders work, but I never seen a Und
er work as easy as the Plano. I have got only a small team,
8400 heavy, but they take that binder anjrwhere. I'most say
that the fly wheel helps much on that machine; it saves one
horse. I advise everyone to go and look first at Mie Plano “
Steel Binder. By doing so the people will find out that the
Plano is the best made and has more steel in it tba@ any oth
er binder, and is light running. Tbe same day the binder
was tried, it was witnessed by my neighbor who have t^
Champion, and they said they were perfectly satiafled with
the work the Plano done; it would beat any other mffi^bifie,I must say I am very glad 1 have bought the Plano Steel
Binder. It is strong made, still it mn easy and light. H there ^
is any one that would like to find ont before he buys a binder
^ the Plano, I shaU be glad to give him aU the pointe^ere is r
^ ^aboat those binders.
