THE GREATEST OF ALL SALES
Excitement and Interest are still at high pitch, but. as we stated, this was to be an unusual sale, and the public are daily finding it to
be so, which accounts for the fact that It continues to grow in Interest from day to day.

He '’believes that the constitution should be framed
in the interest of the people of the State of Michigan, and
not in the inter^t of any clas^. faction or party.”
. He "believes that our present constitution should be
taken as the ground work of the new, and that only such
ch^ges should be made as time and experience have
taught us are nccessar>' to adopt it to the changed condi
tion of our people.”
Delegates to the convention, having such important
duties to perform, ought not, in his judgment, to be gov
erned entirely by their personal opinions, but should keep
ill touch with the p^ple'of their district, and be governeti to a great extent by the opinions ot those whom
they rcjSrcscni, as to what changes should or should not
be matie.
If he is sent as a delegate, he will feel that while he
is there in the interest of the peoph* of the entire stale,
he is also there to voice the seiitiments of the people of
his district, and wiU at all times be pleased to receive
from them suggestions and instructions, and to* acr ac
cordingly.
y
The cnlyjdedgc that he can conscientiously make is
that if he is elecled as a delegate he will, to the best 61
his ability, strive to promote the framifTg“6f^xonstituiion
that will not only safeguard the imerests of what are
termed the common people, but will also give,to them as
large a share as possible in all matters of. local and state
government.
*
He has no hesitancy in saying most emphatically that
he is not agent or attorney 1or, or in any way connected
with, any railroad, corporation, trust or combination
whatever.
Primary Election will take^lace To-Morrow, August 13
