Distributed
One bushel of corn makes about four gallons of whiskey, which retails at $16.60. The
retailer gets $7.00. the U. S Goremment gets $4.40. the maoDfacturer gets $4.00, the
Railroad Company gets $ 80. the farmer gUs $.40. and the consumer gets DRURK.

Criminal Prosecution----- Taxes
Ninety percent of the criminal expense is directly attributable to saloons. Under Local Option, a nominal,
not actual, increase in taxes of only ONE-NINTH not One-third AS YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD.
In L.ocal Option territory taxes have invariably decreased: except where large public improvements have
been made after voting “dry”.
