Finding aid for the Records of the Citizens for Libraries, Site Committee, 1995-1997. Collection is .25 linear feet, and is held at the Traverse Area District Library, Woodmere. Citizens for Libraries was a coalition of Grand Traverse Area citizens, largely from Traverse City, interested in funding the building of a much larger library than the original 1905 Carnegie library on Sixth Street in Traverse City. Donor was a Traverse Area District Library board member who served on the Site Committee. Records constitute 1/4 of a linear foot, and contains information related to choosing a new site for the new library. 9 sites were evaluated, and the site on Woodmere Avenue was ultimately chosen.

Contains lists of Site Committee members, minutes of meetings, working papers of the site criteria lists, which informed the list used by the Site Committee, and evaluation and performance sheets for the various sites under consideration. Original order maintained in processing.
