Description
Black and white postcard of the Williamsburg School children and teacher, 1905. While the original image has significantly faded most of the names of the students listed on the back of the postcard are viewable. It appears the listing of the names occurred several years after the postcard photo was taken. Partially viewable is a notation "4 yrs ago" and a clearer signature , "Mary Waugh." It is likely that Mary Waugh whose signature is on the back upper corner of the postcard along with the 4 years ago notation was the source of the list of names. With many of the names only the last name is visible with the condition of the image. The list of names includes her name as one of the students. The hand written list includes the following names: Cora Scofield, teacher, Avery, Broomheaad, Crisp, Heiges, Waugh, Baird, Harold, Samuels, Finner, Grody, McManan, Orcutt, Moore, Brown, Cooper, Taylor, Newstead, Bell, Eaton, Ernest, Fox.
The list on the back of the postcard contains 26 names, only 22 are visible with the current condition of the image.
