Typed letter on official Tin Can Tourists of the World Inc. letterhead written by G. C. Stemen, secretary of the Tin Can Tourists, dated to October 9, 1952. Addressed to Merle C. Lutz, Secretary of the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce, the letter explains that reunions of the Tin Can Tourists are decided in Tampa, Florida during their Annual Convention. At this convention invitations from city authorities are read for the Tin Can Tourist Board of Directors to decide on the next location for the Annual Convention, Annual Summer Convention, Annual Homecoming, and other official meetings. Stemen invites Lutz, Mayor Sleder and other city officials to forward the Traverse City invitation to be presented to the directors.The letter also invites a representative from Traverse City to be present for the presentation of the invitation in Tampa, Florida. "Copy" is written in pen at the top of the letter.
