Description

Black and white image of Lover's Leap at Old Mission, overlooking East Bay, 13 August 1924. The location was identified by Katy Stilwell Kern as "on the north side of Old Mission Harbor, down the two track and past the Old Mission cottages. Vestiges of an old wooden vessel rest in the water near the bottom of the leap." Kern's son, David, gave this information to the Peninsula Community Library staff. The Kern family has been visitors to Neahtawanta resort area since the 1890s, and Katy Kern confirmed this is the location based on information her mother, Frances Hunt Stilwell, imparted to her. Lover's Leap is not to be confused with Lover's Lane (which is at Neahtawanta resort area).
