Dear Sir,
Your favor of 14th received with
Check for $41.8, which we hold subject to your order, as we
can not accept it in full settlement of your acct.
We are very much surprised of the claims you are making,
First: the 50¢ deduct are for your cartage, which everyday
changes here in Chicago
Second: Our plain Arch brick are $5.00 pr. 100 above the price
of plain brick, which is $80.00 + 5.00 per Mille extra for
rock facing, which is our regular charge
Third: We cannot make any allowances for recutting our
rock face brick, as this is entirely a matter of taste
on your part. We never cut our Rock face any different
from what we sent you and everybody likes them.
The only claim you are entitled to is for recutting 220 brick #129
+ 100#212, but you must remember that we sold you these for brick
at $15.00 per mille below our regular price and don't think that you
ought to make any deduction for recutting. However we
Will allow you $5.oo per Mille for recuttin, which would
be 330 brick $1.65. Our charge for rock facing a thousand
brick is $5.00 and it is certainly much less labor to cut a
piece off from a brick than to rock face it from 4 sides.
Please remit us the balance of $7.70, which justly due us and we will send you a receipt in full.
Yours truly,
Terra Cotta Brick Co
J Petersen
